Other factors to consider which can affect the price of your antenna installation:
What causes poor TV reception?
The most common cause of poor TV reception is that thing on the roof—your antenna. An antenna that’s poorly maintained, broken or incorrectly installed is likely to be behind your reception problems.
If you have the right equipment, you’ll be much less susceptible to TV reception problems.
A number of elements are important when assessing your antenna system, including:
Yes, we install Hills and Auslog TV antennas. Both are Australian brands.
Typically most jobs are done within 3 working days and a Monday-Saturday service is available. Some antenna installations can be affected by weather conditions, if you have a metal roof and it’s raining all week then your job could be rescheduled to suit.
Yes, we offer pensioners a 10% discount on TV antennas and TV wall mounts or installations.
Yes, I carry an eftpos machine.
Once I know your location I can then advise and install for best. It will come down to the signal strength at your rooftop and the number of TV outlets within the home, the ideal signal strength at each TV within the house is 55db-75db.
Yes, all Pro TV jobs come with a 5 year warranty as standard, Some Hills antennas are 10 year and amplifiers have a 2 year warranty.
Australia has now shifted from traditional analog television to digital broadcasting. In the analog days if your reception was not perfect the picture could have been a little snowy or grainy but you could still watch the TV, and now with digital TV broadcasts the TV reception needs to be much more reliable with more focus on a quality signal, and if not, you could experience the dreaded “pixels or no signal”
A Hills Silver Dart or Auslog antenna would be classed as medium gain model, its generally to do with physical size and the number of elements and is best used in stronger reception areas or at houses with fewer points.
A Hills Black Arrow would be classed as a high gain model. It’s slightly larger and with more elements than the medium gain models, they typically give you an extra 3-4db and are best used in the weaker areas or with houses that have more TV points.
If you live in the Scarborough coast area or Perth City and surrounds or even Two Rocks then you may need an UHF antenna. These relay transmitters operate on different frequencies than the main VHF transmitter located in Kalamunda/Bickley. Relay transmitters fill in the gaps where the main transmitter may not cover that well which is often down to the local terrain. If in doubt, just ask and I can confirm or advise for best once I am at the house and have carried out rooftop testing.
